Epic Narrative Poem:
"The Duke Wilhausen"

I have recently completed a modern epic poem called The Duke Wilhausen, set in a fantasy world and harkening back to epics of old in style and theme, more than five years in the making. It centers on the titular character, the Duke, last of the Wilhausens, cursed to remain in his family castle and see his line to its end, as both desert and thorny woods block him from the outside world. That is until one night during a violent storm, a rider on a horse comes through the seemingly impassable Wellaway Woods and seeks refuge at the Duke's castle. What begins is a friendship that brings to head Wilhausen's internal conflict between fealty and wanderlust. The Duke's story explores the fear and fortitude of the human capacity for change.

Graphic Design: Stickers & Vector Art

I've always been an artistic soul, from art club in high school, to discovering copic markers and digital art in college. I've dabbled in both traditional and digital mediums, being partial to pencil drawings and chalk pastel, as well as more recently, vector art and designing stickers. I love cute things and creating cool posters or designs on Canva and Inkscape.

Academic Pursuits

In addition to my own creative projects, I also continue my scholarly work through independent research in the form of articles, educational videos, and advocacy. Through these, I seek better, fuller understanding of philosophical, social, and theoretical issues by diving into the framework behind ideas and beliefs. I also am an advocate for the literary merit of the poet Clement Wood.

Visual Novel: A Soul's Price

I am also in the process of adapting one of my stories into a visual novel! I wrote this short story, A Soul's Price, to be a visual-based reading experience using Ren'Py. It is a philosophical and moral thriller that explores the nature of the soul, human meaning, and temptation in the face of the unknown. Forthcoming in 2024.
